With over 20 years in management roles, I witnessed firsthand how a lack of financial knowledge and planning left many hardworking individuals vulnerable to unexpected life events. Family members, friends, colleagues, and clients often assumed they were financially secure believing that "life is good right now, so I don’t need to worry", "we're too young to think about this", “we don’t know a financial advisor we can trust", or that "workplace group benefits should be enough." However, when unforeseen circumstances struck, their lives changed overnight. I witnessed people lose their homes and businesses, face overwhelming financial stress, see their hard-earned credit rating destroyed overnight, and even experience depression and divorce—all because they weren’t financially prepared for life’s uncertainties.

Then, it happened to my own family. One day, my wife suddenly lost all sensation in her legs and arms while sitting in her car. Our young children had to call 911. She underwent a high-risk, 7-hour surgery to remove a tumor from her spine. She was in her 30s—healthy, a non-smoker, active in yoga, and exercised regularly. We never saw it coming. That moment changed everything for us.

At the time, I was already considering a career change to achieve a better work-life balance and spend more time with my family. But after my wife’s recovery, financial security advise and employee group benefits design became more than just a career—it became my passion.
